Caster is a boutique PR agency with a gorgeous 4200 sq/ft HQ office location in Wakefield, RI. All entry-level positions will work from this main office, but we also have Caster team members dispersed in remote work locations including D.C., Atlanta, Indianapolis, and Boston-areas. The office boasts extensive private and distanced workspaces across three floors plus an outdoor courtyard, which helps our team build community and culture while still maintaining quiet-space and safety.

  • Account Services – PR and Social Media (2 different positions) — This individual will play a key role in developing and implementing public relations and social media programs for a range of clients in B2B and B2C technology. This person will be a cornerstone on product launches, media & analyst relations, social media, event marketing, and more. The ideal candidate is a quick learner with established media relations experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities. They don’t get ruffled; they manage their workload and they are an awesome team player who is looking for both career and financial growth.
    • Both positions have a minimum 24-36 months of direct agency experience in PR and social media.
  • Senior Account Services – This individual is responsible for client relationships, and effectively developing strategy, executing client programs, meeting established goals and metrics, and delivering high quality client service. This person will counsel clients on media and social relations, and is responsible for troubleshooting issues and challenges, and driving overall program success and execution. Drafting, development and implementation of communication strategies, programs, tactics for clients.
    • 6+ years managing PR and Social Media programs across multiple client accounts in agency setting

Account Services Job Requirements

  • (SR) Create high-level digital/social media strategies and messaging that are integrated into communication plans
  • (SR) Development & implementation of communication strategies, programs, tactics for small to mid-sized clients
  • (SR) Develops and scales programs based on client needs
  • (SR) Ensures client benchmarks are achieved, program improvements are identified, deliverables are met
  • (SR) Leads client programs that drive results
  • (SR) Manage account team holistically to ensure media outreach, social media, pitching efforts and results are met
  • (SR) Manage client results – Account for monthly, quarterly and annual client KPIs
  • (SR) Manage PR and Social Media programs across multiple client accounts
  • (SR) Oversee client meetings, agendas & recaps, run client PR check in calls
  • (SR) Understand clients’ business model from a global perspective; understand key markets, global influencers and the impact on client/business narrative
  • Active involvement in client meetings, team meetings; manage reports, schedules, assignments
  • Anticipate account needs, client communication challenges & develop recommendations
  • Conduct outreach relevant to PR, social media and/or other campaign tactics
  • Contribute to brainstorms & strategic campaign development, messaging
  • Craft Caster case studies, award entries, blogs and successful social
  • Deliver Tier 1 media coverage to agency clients
  • Develop and nurture network of media contacts
  • Develop research reports – from questions to data points to documentation to analysis and final report
  • Draft bylined articles crafted from scratch – outline, copy, edits to placement
  • Draft whitepapers, ecosystem reports,

  • Identify opportunities for cross-team collaboration
  • Manage and/or support on multiple accounts for inbound/outbound editorial opps, deadlines, news, social, and reporting

  • Product review pitching, execution and trouble-shooting
  • Provide timely and in-depth analysis of press and social media coverage results & trends

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary commensurate with experience and includes performance bonus opportunities
    • Ranges: Entry-level $36-40K
    • Services: $52k – $55k
    • Senior: $65k – $72k

2021 Internships

 Overview:

Caster Intern:

This person will support integrated communications programs for clients spanning a variety of technologies. The person will have the opportunity to work on projects ranging from product and news launches to media relations and content programs, news and trends research to list building; no task can be too big or too small. Everything is a learning experience.

The individual will be provided support and direct communication from team leaders including the training needed to be successful in PR. The ideal candidate is a quick learner with a strong desire to learn the key foundational elements of what it takes to be successful in media relations, PR and social media. They will gain experience in a fast-paced environment while learning to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

This person must be proactive, collaborative, and creative and have a solid understanding of social media as a communications tactic. The individual needs to have a baseline interest in technology. Tech PR is a category of public relations, it is a career builder and one of the fastest growing segments in the PR industry. You must be a self-starter, resourceful, patient, a solid note-taker who is willing to give it a try versus seeking all the answers from someone else. Are you a problem solver? Good. We’re looking for someone who has strong verbal and written communication skills, has excellent time management skills and is a meticulous organizer who can and will multi-task and is interested in building their career with a fun and fast-paced team. This internship will be as good as you make it; we are busy and do not offer childcare services, but it’s worth it, ask our previous interns, many of whom won top PR awards and all of whom had job offers at the end of their internships. They learned it all at Caster.

Opportunities

 Public Relations:

  • Learn media list creation and maintenance
  • Tactical implementation of foundational initiatives for Caster clients
    • Updating & maintaining editorial calendar
    • Updating & maintaining social media calendars
  • Research: client news, competitive news, industry trends, media opportunities, background info, contact information, source credibility, data research, demographic studies – and learning how to turn all this into media opportunities for clients.
  • Writing for PR: blogs, product award entries, media pitches, bios, social media posts
  • Learn the art of the pitch and own pitching projects: assigned to interns to include a start-to-finish project by semester: research, lists, writing, media outreach, and results.
  • Learn Key PR tools: Meltwater, MuckRack, MailChimp, Canva, Zoom, Teams, Outlook, Google Analytics (advanced), Editorial Calendars, Sprout Social (advanced)
  • Contribute to timely reports of press and social media coverage results & trends

 Digital & Social Media:

  • Learn the how and why of social media content for consumer and B2B accounts
  • Social Media: contributing to campaigns, content: aggregate and organic, learning and applying tools for measurement/metrics and reporting
  • Learn how to amplify, engage and promote news on social properties
  • Update & maintain social content calendars
  • Understand, use and implement content on the top social platforms for business metrics

Team/Client/Office:

  • Contribute to team projects
  • Manage weekly status reports/move projects forward according to deadlines
  • Learn PR tools: WordPress, Sprout, Meltwater, Muck Rack
  • Learn Office tools: Email, Slack, MS365, Zoom

Qualifications:

  • Junior or Senior year in college (or post-graduation), GPA of 3.25 or higher (3.5 or higher on major courses), involvement in other activities
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Understanding of social media
  • Strong organizational skills & ability to multi-task, work in a team office environment, and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in computers & standard office applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and more)

Compensation:

  • Flexible Options with minimums:
    • Time period:
      • Summer: start date July 12 – minimum run through December 20, 2021 (preference given to long term thinkers)
      • Fall: start date September 15 – January 15, 2021 (prefer two semester commitments if given the opportunity to stay)
      • 3 days per week minimum with 18 hours up to 24 hours
      • Highest program offered is 30 hours/13 weeks/390 hours total
    • College credit for first 10-12 hours and then $12/hour on top of that for hours worked in pay period

Requirements:

  • Digital portfolio and/or 3 writing samples
  • Copy of latest transcript highlighting GPA

    • One educator from college or university
