Vanco International Adds Patented 4K HDMI Extender to Evolution Brand

The EV4K2006 helps installers streamline system design by extending 4K ultra high definition video with HDR and audio signals, IR, and power over a single Cat5e/6t Cable with POE.

Batavia, IL – May 16, 2018 – Vanco International LLC, an industry leader in AV distribution and electronic accessory products, is pleased to announce the patented (U.S. Patent Nos. 9,710,038; 9,747,236; 9,798,681; and 9,946,643) Evolution EV4K2006 4K HDMI extender. A descendant to the patented EVEX2006 HDMI extender – the only non-HDBaseT-enabled solution available in the market that extends bi-directional Power over Ethernet – the EV4K2006 does so while also offering compatibility and support of 4K video, providing integrators a convenient and flexible solution for any installation.

The EV4K2006 includes two units: a transmitting unit and receiving unit. The transmitting unit is used to capture the HDMI input with IR signals and carries the signals over a single Cat5e/6 cable. The receiving unit is responsible for equalizing the transmitted HDMI signal and reconstructing IR signals. The EV4K2006 offers the most convenient solution for HDMI extension with bi-directional IR, auto EDID/EQ, and bi-directional PoE, allowing either the transmitter or receiver to be powered without the use of a power supply, greatly expanding its applications. With its slim and compact chassis, the EV4K2006 can be installed in even more residential or commercial applications.

Extending 4K ultra high definition video with HDR and audio signals, IR, and power, the EV4K2006 transmission range capabilities support 4K@60Hz, 4:4:4 Chroma Subsampling and HDR up to 164ft/50m, and 4K@30Hz, 4:4:4 Chroma Subsampling, and HDR up to 130ft/40m. The EV4K2006’s wideband bi-directional IR system from 20KHz to 60KHz, allows for ultimate control of source or display with IR accessories included.

EV4K2006 is HDCP 2.2 compliant and works with HDMI and HDCP compliant devices. Supporting pure compressed 7.1 digital audio, DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD high bit rate audio, the EV4K2006 was designed with the installer in mind. HDR10 compatible, it also features Auto EDID and EQ management, meaning the units automatically adjust for compatibility and gain for simple plug and play installation.

“Positive feedback and interest from distributors and dealers for our EVEX2006 HDMI extender pushed us to think about other gaps in AV distribution and where we could offer new capabilities to the market,” said Mark Corbin, president of Vanco International. “The demand for 4K video is growing, so we feel that the EV4K2006 is an excellent option for installers looking to expand 4K within systems of any size and scale, commercial or residential alike. We’re looking forward to sharing this product with the community at InfoComm in June.”

The EV4K2006 will be available this month and will also be on display at InfoComm in Vanco International’s Booth N3022. Interested distributors can contact Vanco International directly for pricing.
