Airzone Brings KNX-Certified Aidoo Pro HVAC Controller to the U.S. Market

Miami, FL – October 22, 2024Airzone, a global leader in HVAC zoning and control solutions, today announces the launch of its KNX-certified Aidoo Pro controller in the United States.  This HVAC control solution enables U.S.-based electrical contractors, systems integrators, and mechanical contractors to integrate Inverter (VRF and mini-split) HVAC systems with KNX, the world’s leading open standard for home and building automation.

A Global Standard Now Available for U.S. Installers

The arrival of the KNX-certified Aidoo Pro in the U.S. marks a significant step forward for open standards-based building control and automation in the country. KNX, a widely adopted global standard, has been used for over 30 years to integrate and control residential and commercial building systems worldwide. This open protocol allows more than 8,000 certified devices from over 500 member manufacturers to communicate seamlessly, providing specifiers unmatched flexibility in product selection.

With the release of the Aidoo Pro KNX, U.S. integrators can now integrate Inverter (VRF and mini-split) systems with KNX-certified building technologies—such as lighting and shading—through a single, unified platform without the need for additional APIs or custom programming. Inverter HVAC systems rely on proprietary manufacturer protocols for internal commands and diagnostics: The Aidoo Pro enables bi-directional communication with all KNX-certified devices, giving installers full control of HVAC systems through the KNX interface.

“KNX and Airzone are long-time partners with a proven record of delivering improved interoperability and efficiency for HVAC in building automation systems,” said Antonio Mediato, CEO of Airzone. “As the KNX ecosystem expands in the United States, we are proud to continue that partnership: We know our U.S. customers will benefit from the reliability, ease of operation, and system design flexibility inherent to KNX.”

Enhancing Integration Across All Building Systems

Using KNX’s ETS software, contractors and integrators need only one tool to program and manage all devices, streamlining the integration process and minimizing the learning curve for specifiers and technicians. KNX and the Airzone Aidoo Pro are both fully interoperable with BACNet, enabling U.S. integrators to easily integrate existing HVAC systems in hospitality and light commercial settings with KNX-controlled lighting, security, or shading.

“The U.S. market is ready for KNX. We’ve long been the preferred global standard, and with Airzone’s KNX-certified Aidoo Pro, American integrators can now benefit further from our unmatched flexibility and control,” said Jose Morcillo, Head of Membership and Development for USA, KNX Association. “By making Inverter HVAC systems KNX-compatible, Airzone is helping integrators create truly unified home and building control experiences that enhance both functionality and energy efficiency.”
