Crestron Completes First Milestone for FedRAMP Authorization and Achieves “In Process” Designation
Rockleigh, New Jersey – September 12, 2023 – Crestron Electronics, a global leader in government AV technology, today announces significant progress toward a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP®) authorization for the Crestron XiO Cloud® platform. FedRAMP is a government-wide program that promotes the adoption of secure modern cloud services with an emphasis on the security and protection of federal information. The process is completed through a standardized evaluation that includes an assessment to achieve authorization followed by continuous monitoring.
Military and government agencies worldwide rely on Crestron technology, enabling them to communicate, monitor, and manage their room systems easily and securely. The Crestron XiO Cloud service is a device management software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that allows supported Crestron and third‑party devices across an enterprise to be managed and configured from one central, secure location in the cloud. The Crestron XiO Cloud service may be used to view a device’s status, configure various device and network settings, manage licenses, and update device firmware.
“We are immensely proud to reach this stage in our pursuit of the FedRAMP authorization for the Crestron XiO Cloud platform. This achievement underscores our unwavering commitment to innovation and providing government agencies with secure and compliant technology solutions,” said Jeremy Button, vice president, government sales at Crestron. “As Crestron continues to invest in compliance initiatives like FedRAMP, we reaffirm our dedication to being a trusted partner in the government sector, ensuring that our clients have access to secure, state-of-the-art AV and UC hardware and software solutions.”
Crestron is officially listed as “in process” on the FedRAMP Marketplace and will become FedRAMP-authorized at the Low-Impact SaaS (LI-SaaS) level once complete. Crestron continues to invest in solutions and necessary certifications such as TAA Compliance, JITC, NIAP, and now FedRAMP to support government clients. Although state and local governments do not mandate these certifications, they offer government agencies confidence that they are investing in a secure and trusted solution.
