Hunter Douglas Introduces New Ways to Control Automated Shades and Expands Fabric Choices
Hunter Douglas, the world's leading manufacturer of custom window treatments, is introducing PowerView® Tap, a new control option for PowerView Automation, alongside a significant expansion of its Designer Roller and Skyline® fabric collection

New York, NY – August 26, 2026 – Hunter Douglas, the world's leading manufacturer of custom window treatments, is introducing PowerView® Tap, a new control option for PowerView Automation, alongside a significant expansion of its Designer Roller and Skyline® fabric collection. The introductions give dealers more options across two important parts of the shading specification, from how homeowners interact with automated shades to the fabrics that help window treatments complement the look and feel of the home.
PowerView Tap offers simple, direct control of a single shade or group of shades through a three-button Up, Stop and Down interface. Designed to complement the existing PowerView control options, Tap can be used on a tabletop or wall-mounted and customized through the PowerView App. Double-click functionality supports additional operation for products such as Top-Down Bottom-Up and Duolite®, giving integrators another way to match control to the application and homeowner preference.
“Since launching PowerView, Hunter Douglas has been committed to giving homeowners choice in how they control their shades, from the PowerView App and integrations with leading smart home control systems to the robust functionality of our award-winning PowerView Pebble Remote,” said Scott Stephenson, Sr. Director of Product, Global Motorization at Hunter Douglas. “PowerView Tap expands those choices with a streamlined, tactile option focused on simplicity, giving integrators another way to match the control experience to the homeowner and the space.”
Hunter Douglas is also refreshing 33 percent of its Designer Roller and Skyline® collection with 42 new fabric styles. The expanded assortment spans modern geometrics, dimensional textures and organic-inspired textiles, with greater opacity choices, a new Eco Collection and additional options for Duolite® and Dual Roller configurations.
For members of the Hunter Douglas Custom Integrator Program, accessing that breadth of design is also easier than before. CI dealers no longer need to make the upfront investment in purchasing fabric books, removing an important barrier to exploring the assortment and making it easier to introduce clients to the breadth of Hunter Douglas fabrics.
