Crestron Releases Whitepaper and Readiness Scoring Tool to Help Companies to Evaluate Their Modern Work Approach

Rockleigh, NJ – June 21, 2023 – Crestron, global leader in workplace collaboration technology, today announces a new whitepaper report, At the Tipping Point, which investigates how modern work is evolving and how companies can improve their approach. Written in collaboration with Worktech Academy, the report dives into the cultural shifts and realignments among employees, the repurposing and redesign of the physical workspace as a response, and the technological innovations transforming how we work, learn, and collaborate.

Crestron has also developed a Modern Work Readiness Score to help companies assess how well-equipped they are to address the opportunities and challenges of the new work era. The Modern Work Readiness Score is a short, simple survey tool that asks a series of questions about employee work practices, collaboration technology utilization, and how the two support one another.

“The whitepaper echoes key pillars of the modern workplace: In-person and virtual collaboration are equally important; exceptional audio and video quality supports meeting equity for employees and empowers them with the flexibility to choose which room best supports their work for that day while fostering productivity and inclusivity,” says Crestron Executive VP of Global Marketing Brad Hintze. “The report shows that with more spaces to consider, both in the office and at employees’ homes, scalability must be part of the comprehensive strategy for every IT decision-maker. Solutions that are easy to implement, locally and globally, foster a more seamless work environment and minimize friction.”

While the discussions on returning to the office continue, the whitepaper establishes that well-thought-out hybrid work policies will help attract and retain talent now that hybrid and remote working have become permanent features. “The report shows companies can no longer continue to watch; the Readiness Score will help them evaluate and act,” added Hintze.

“The report shows the world will be increasingly divided between companies who are prepared for hybrid working and those who are not – those who are not ready will struggle with both business demands and employee expectations,” explains Philip Ross, founder of Worktech. “The priority consideration should be around digital preparedness — gearing up technology systems to support flexible work patterns and meet new operational needs. The important thing is that technology is aligned with HR policies and space plans so that there is a holistic approach and companies can have a clear perspective on their journey to workplace transformation.”

Many large organizations currently find themselves in a similar position with the adoption of new working practices based on flexible work patterns and supported by digital technology. Organizations with a higher level of preparedness for modern work tend to have an unambiguous policy that gives employees more choice and control over how they work, provides opportunities for in-person as well as remote collaboration, and focuses on building social and cultural capital in the workplace.
