RoomMe True Occupancy Automation System Adds Support for IFTTT
Intellithings announces expanded functionality for RoomMe; now supports IFTTT, Hubitat and supported systems’ pre-defined scenes triggering.
Tel Aviv, Israel – June 4, 2020 – Intellithings®, the Israeli startup responsible for RoomMe, the first smart home True Occupancy Automation system based on patented presence sensing technology to identify specific people in a room, today announces expanded functionality including integrated support for IFTTT and Hubitat as well as the ability to trigger supported system’s pre-configured smart home scenes. Available now via an update to the RoomMe app, this enhanced functionality makes RoomMe compatible with virtually every smart home device currently on the market.
RoomMe leverages patented Presence Sensing Technology (PST) to make the personalized smart home experience a reality. Rather than rely on basic motion events, RoomMe leverages the unique Bluetooth signature of a user’s smartphone or select smartwatch models to identify who that user is, which room they are in, and automatically adjust settings such as entertainment, temperature, lighting, and more to that specific user’s preferences.
Now compatible with IFTTT, RoomMe can be leveraged as the trigger for automations and scenes which are further enhanced via the level of personalization RoomMe permits. Users can now use IFTTT to create personalized automations which only execute when a specific user enters the room as they are identified by the RoomMe sensor installed on the ceiling. Designed with privacy in mind, RoomMe does not rely on internet connectivity for presence detection, and does not use any biometrics to identify users within the home. RoomMe does not collect or share any personal data or information and only uses the unique Bluetooth signature of a user’s smartphone or smartwatch to determine which user is home and which room they are within.
In addition to the IFTTT integration, RoomMe is now supported as a smart home scene trigger for automations configured with supported devices and systems. RoomMe functions as an additional layer on top of today’s most popular DIY smart home systems and devices including Hubitat which has just been added to the long list of compatible products such as Apple HomeKit, Wink, Logitech, Harmony, Insteon, Sensibo, Philips HUE, LIFX, Ecobee, Sonos, Bose, and hub-connected Z-Wave and Zigbee devices. RoomMe is also compatible with the most popular professionally installed systems including Crestron, Control4, URC, ELAN, and RTI.
“Support for IFTTT, Hubitat, and the ability to trigger pre-defined scenes make RoomMe more powerful than ever,” said Oren Kotlicki, founder and CEO of Intellithings. “With this integration, RoomMe can be used to trigger an entire universe of connected devices and systems for the smart home. RoomMe adds a level of personalization that the smart home has been missing and gives IFTTT users the ability to trigger their automations in an entirely new way. The possibilities for these personalized automations are endless and users are only limited by their imagination. We cannot wait to see how customers integrate RoomMe into their IFTTT applets and create new use cases with the presence intelligence RoomMe brings.”
Available now, RoomMe users can access these updates by updating their RoomMe app on their preferred iOS or Android device.
