Vanco International Debuts ‘Spot for Dot’ Voice-Activated In-Wall Amplifier
When installed with an Amazon Echo Dot, the patent-pending Spot for Dot offers installers a simple, high-quality audio and voice control solution.
InfoComm 2018 – Las Vegas, NV – June 6-8, 2018 – Vanco International LLC, an industry leader in AV distribution and electronic accessory products, is pleased to announce Spot for Dot, a patent-pending high-quality digital in-wall amplifier that provides installers with an inexpensive and convenient solution that powers speakers and connects to existing distributed audio systems. Engineered to hold an Amazon Echo Dot, and when paired with speakers, Spot for Dot can add voice control of smart devices, scenes, and other functionality to as many zones of audio that an installer desires, without the need to run wires back to a central location.
Designed with Jim Murray of Jimmy |Thu LLC, Spot for Dot is installed behind a wall plate that is no bigger than a double gang outlet, to appeal to the customer’s desire for décor-friendly technology solutions. When connected to an Amazon Echo Dot, Spot for Dot adds a concealed voice control option to any space. The clever vertical in-wall design actually improves the pick-up and responsiveness of the microphone in an Amazon Echo Dot, rather than being placed horizontally and freestanding on a table or shelf, a setup that comes with acoustic challenges.
Unlike traditional distributed audio systems that are restricted to a set number of zones, Spot for Dot provides the flexibility to add one zone at a time without limitations, all at a significantly lower cost because of its ability to be connected to existing electrical wiring in the home or commercial space. Installers can simply retrofit Spot for Dot into an existing distributed audio system without the inconvenience of running wires back to a central location, saving time and money.
The Spot for Dot amplifier is compatible with most speakers, improving sound quality significantly over traditional smart speakers. A perfect solution to pair with most free-standing or in-wall and in-ceiling speakers, such as those from Beale Street Audio, Spot for Dot offers high-quality stereo sound for two speakers or the option to bridge up to four speakers.
“Our talented team has developed a game-changing solution for installers looking to add high-quality audio and voice control to distributed audio systems without the normal hassles associated with an install,” said Mark Corbin, President of Vanco International. “With the continued popularity of voice control in AV installations, we are confident Spot for Dot will be a success in both the commercial and residential markets and we are extremely excited to demonstrate its capabilities in the Vanco International booth this week at InfoComm 2018.”
Vanco International’s Spot for Dot will be available in Q3. Interested distributors and dealers can contact Vanco International directly for pricing and learn more at Vanco’s InfoComm booth N3022 in Las Vegas, June 6 – 8, 2018.
