What You Can Expect from the Caster Clients at CEDIA Expo 2019
It’s hard to believe that Summer 2019 is already winding down. While the Caster Crew enjoyed our fair share of Narragansett beers and sunsets, the office has been in full CEDIA swing for quite some time now. See over here, CEDIA prep goes all summer long. For those of you who are sitting in the same boat as us (i.e. googling “does Denver in September = frizzy hair?”) we’ve pulled together an overview of what the Caster clients will be showcasing on the show floor this week.
Following the completion of the merger between SnapAV and Control4, the unified company will attend CEDIA Expo for the first time together as SnapAV. Attendees can demo products from top SnapAV brands in booth #3707, and Control4, Pakedge and Triad products will be displayed in booth #3013.
If you haven’t yet, be sure to check out the new Control4 Smart Home OS 3, featuring thousands of enhancements and capabilities, all unified into a single platform. Lighting, comfort, music, video, shading, and security experiences are professionally installed and built with Control4 OS 3 to suit the family’s lifestyle, from an ecosystem of nearly 14,000 third-party devices.
Yesterday, SnapAV announced company updates and new product integrations. You can read that news here. And, just this morning, they announced even more integration enhancements to Control4 OS 3, including voice control with Google Assistant, and their new Control4 CA-10 Automation Controller. You can learn more about that here.
New Caster client, Hunter Douglas, will showcase automated window treatments in a kiosk in the Control4 booth #3013 at CEDIA. With PowerView Motorization, over 20 Hunter Douglas shade and blind styles can be programmed, scheduled, and controlled easily by the homeowner or automatically as part of a smart home system. Styles shown in the booth include Duette® Honeycomb Shades, Pirouette® window shadings, Vignette® Duolite modern roman shades, Silhouette® window shadings, and more, each designed with unique light filtering and aesthetic. Learn more here.
Hunter Douglas also announced their new initiative, the Custom Integrator Program (CIP), that provides training, tools and resources specifically for CEDIA industry professionals to add quality smart shading to their repertoire. Get the details here.
Yesterday, another new client to Caster, Intellithings announced integration with Control4, Elan, RTI, and URC for their product RoomMe. RoomMe is a Personal Location Sensor (PLS) that leverages patented Presence Sensing Technology (PST) to make room-to-room, person-specific smart home automations a reality. RoomMe works as an additional layer to today’s most popular smart home systems and devices. With RoomMe, the smart home doesn’t just act based on motion, occupancy, or time-based programs, but elevates the experience with hands-free control every time a user enters an assigned room. The RoomMe smartphone app has insight into which user is in which room, automatically adjusting to trigger pre-set personal settings in your smart home system. From lighting and comfort to music and entertainment, RoomMe adjusts the smart home to meet the preferences of that specific user. More information can be found here. Stop by the Z-Wave Pavilion, booth #1743, at CEDIA Expo to learn more about Intellithings.
PowerHouse Alliance will display their full line of exclusive A2V products including HDMI, speakers, subwoofers, racks, and mounts. Over a dozen vendor brands will also be on display and demo including new members KLH Audio and PowerShades. Stop by booth #2137 to check them out.
